Vintage Soviet powder compact dating to approximately the 1950s, made from gilded brass and decorated with a striking raised maple-leaf motif. The compact opens to reveal a circular mirror and a separate engraved inner lid covering the powder compartment. The interior lid is richly decorated with floral engraving, giving the piece an unusually ornate finish inside as well as out.

The compact comes with its black protective fabric pouch. No maker’s mark has been identified.

Condition: very good vintage condition with normal age-related surface wear, light scratches and patina to the gilded brass. The mirror is intact and the hinges and closures function correctly. Please review all photographs as they form part of the condition description.
